The Current: October 2026

October has been a month of new beginnings at Fund for Teachers! We opened our 2027 grant application on October 1, inviting educators across the country to imagine where their own professional learning could take them next summer.

Meanwhile, we’re continuing to share the experiences of our 2026 Fellows and the many ways their learning is finding its way back into classrooms. In this issue of The Current, meet an ESL teacher whose travels through the Balkans deepened her understanding of language and empathy, and two educators bringing the origins of American democracy to life through firsthand historical inquiry. We’re also excited to introduce two new members of our Board of Directors, whose perspectives and expertise will help guide our work ahead.
